The Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) programs in College Station and at the Higher Education Center in McAllen are designed to provide a strong, four-year education that emphasizes applied biology as directed toward health and disease and provides versatility for graduates.

With the implementation of President Welsh’s Quick-Look Assessment, BIMS is moving back to the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS), which raises many questions for students. This page is a living document to which new questions can be submitted.

Announcements

If you are planning on a Summer 2025 Graduation and you believe you meet all the requirements, the Graduation Application window is open. You can find the Graduation Application directions here.

  • The last day to apply for graduation without a late fee for this Summer will be Friday, July 11th, 2025.
  • Graduation for Summer 2025 will be on Saturday, August 9th.
  • If you have pending coursework that needs to be transferred for graduation that you are currently taking somewhere else please make sure to reach out to degree-audit@tamu.edu and let them know what you are taking and when your grades should be posted. 
  • If you are unsure of your graduation status or if you are clearing, please reach out to bims@tamu.edu or schedule an appoint/drop-in advising with an advisor. You can find our advising times and contact links here

Past Announcements

  • Graduation is on May 8th at 9 AM CST and will be located at Reed Arena. Make sure you apply for graduation by April 29th!! If you miss this deadline, you will have to apply for summer graduation.
  • The BIMS Undergraduate Advising Office is now located in VIDI (#1813) Bldg. | Suite 123 (Find us on Aggie Map).

The BIMS Undergraduate Program both emphasizes versatility in the biological and medical sciences and prioritizes a One Health approach to education through courses that emphasize the interconnectedness of animal, human, and environmental health while bringing together students with an interest in medical careers that impact all three.
