Melissa Houser '01

Melissa is the founder of Positive Force Consulting, an event production, marketing, and communications company. 

After graduating from Texas A&M in 2001, Melissa enrolled in the American Humanics program at the University of Houston and completed the Nonprofit Leadership and Management certification. She began her nonprofit career at the Awty International School as Development Manager. After a short time at Awty, she was offered the Director of Development position at Sheltering Arms Senior Services, where she was responsible for all fundraising and marketing efforts of the organization, including individual and corporate philanthropy, grant writing, event production, social media management, and capital giving. 

In 2010, Melissa took a giant leap of faith and founded Positive Force Consulting. Her lifelong passion for helping others led her to put her extensive history of event planning, cadre of community resources, and impressive background in marketing and fundraising to work for a larger number of organizations in the community. She works with many wonderful clients all over the Greater Houston area. 

In her spare time, which is a rare commodity, she binge-watches baking shows and true crime documentaries, enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures, and shuttles her two sons back and forth from their various sporting activities. She never misses a chance to get back to Aggieland and take down a Dudley’s French Dip whenever possible.
