Humans are social animals. Introverted or extroverted, each one of us wants to connect with others. Texas A&M is not only home to outstanding faculty and students, it is also simply home. The legendary Aggie spirit creates a uniquely welcoming environment that allows newcomers and old-timers to explore ideas, create new knowledge, and come to know one another as partners in the great enterprise of History.

Professors—not temporary instructors or graduate students—teach most undergraduate courses. Half of our faculty have won university teaching awards. Ambitious students can elect to write honors theses and present their own original research at the annual History Student Conference. Fifteen-person research and writing seminars allow every graduate to experience a vibrant intellectual community and develop the historical thinking skills that last a lifetime.
