Department of Mathematics
The analytical and quantitative skills acquired with rigorous mathematical training provide diverse career opportunities that rank near the top in career satisfaction surveys. We offer instruction that leads to flexible degrees along with a wide array of web-assisted supplemental instructional services. In addition to collaborative and cross-disciplinary research interests, we support a variety of K-12 and general outreach programs.

- Montgomery Bohde, double major in Math and Computer Science, has been awarded both an Astronaut Scholarship and a Goldwater Scholarship.
- Math major and Math Club President Kevin Le has been awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Math major Jenna Plute received honorable mention.
- Heather Klein and Wencai Liu have been selected as recipients of College of Arts and Sciences Awards for 2025: Heather Klein received the Faculty Excellence Award and Wencai Liu received the Research Impact Award.
- Todd Schrader and Kun Wang have been selected for Department of Mathematics outstanding service awards, and Matthias Maier and John Weeks have been selected for Department of Mathematics outstanding teaching awards.
- Our department's Distance Master's Program has been featured in the February ArtSci news.
