Biography

  • Provides direct administrative support and serves as assistant to Department Head
  • Assists the Department Head in resolving complex, highly sensitive and confidential administrative matters
  • Serve as first point of contact for departmental faculty and staff regarding TAMU policies and procedures
  • Responsible for administrative coordination of Tenure and Promotion documents
  • Coordinates with Directors of Graduate Studies to monitor graduate student progress and opportunities for support
  • Provides administrative support in preparation of applicant files for review by admissions committee
  • Processes graduate applications, prepares correspondence, and facilitates campus visits by prospective grad students
  • Manages recruitment budget, prepares and disseminates recruitment materials
  • Reviews and processes new hire paperwork and coordinates onboarding and offboarding for graduate students
  • Posts tuition payments and processes overages for graduate students
  • Maintains confidential personnel and payroll files for faculty and graduate assistance
  • Coordinates all departmental arrangements for faculty, graduate students and external speakers
  • Processes all departmental travel reimbursements for faculty, graduate students, and all travel itineraries and reimbursements for external speakers
  • Maintains account ledgers for departmental faculty and graduate student travel budgets
  • Assists the Department Head by compiling and interpreting data for the preparation of specialized reports
  • Assists the Department Head and Business Coordinator with new faculty and joint appointment hiring
  • Coordinates with building proctor, securing master keys
  • Recording Secretary for departmental faculty meetings
