Biography

I study supermassive black holes and how they grow/impact/evolve with their host galaxy. To do this, I primarily work with radio data from the Very Large Array (VLA). Since the radio emission from radio-loud sources are fairly well understood, we are tackling the quieter radio sources also known as radio-quiet sources. These sources are usually unresolved, compact sources, but we do see extended emission and jet-like structures from these radio-quiet sources. Are radio-quiet Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) just smaller, scaled-down versions of their radio-loud counterparts, or are they something different? By trying to answer this question, we will be able to discern the radio lifecycle that AGN go through.
