Exhibit Name: Mapping Victory: World War II U.S. Service Unit Maps; Location: Cushing Memorial Library and Archives; Dates: November 15, 2024-March 7, 2025.
Dr. Adam R. Seipp is collaborating with the TAMU Libraries to host an exhibit, Mapping Victory: World War II U.S. Service Unit Maps, at Cushing Memorial Library and Archives. This exhibit showcases a remarkable collection of souvenir maps produced by U.S. Army units at the end of the Second World War. Cushing Libraries owns what may be the world’s largest collection of these maps, which constitute a rich historical source that helps us to understand the attitudes of American military personnel in the months after the end of hostilities. The TAMU Libraries has created a short video describing the exhibit.
