Biophysical research uses the experimental techniques and theoretical methods of modern physics to study fundamental biological mechanisms at the molecular, cellular, and systems levels. This highly multidisciplinary research area has the potential for ground-breaking advances in the understanding of biological system; some of which have the promise for significant societal impact.
