Biography

Daniel is an associate professor at Texas A&M-University at San Antonio. His research is focused on three areas, Latino/a student experiences in higher education, Middleclass Latinx experiences with processes of racialization, and understanding how race and space intersect in the Southwest. He currently is focused on writing his book addressing the everyday racial politics experienced by middle-class Mexican ancestry Latinx people. He has published in several edited volumes and journals and is a co-editor on a volume titled Latino Peoples in the New America: Racialization and Resistance and co-editor on a volume titled The Spanish Language in the United States: Rootedness, Racialization, and Resistance. He lives in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas.
